  • What do I use starch for? Posted March 17, 2014 | Tags: Guides, Instructions, Laundry Starch, Starch

Powder starch (also known as traditional starch) is commonly used to give a crisp finish to shirt collars and cuffs, table linen and bed sheets. It is possible to starch virtually any fabrics, however care should be taken with items that mark easily e.g. silk. Dry clean only items cannot be starched. As the starch can be diluted according to the users requirements it is possible to obtain any level of stiffness, from a delicate finish that gives a clean wrinkle free appearance, or a medium dilution to give body to lack lustre fabrics or the other extreme you can obtain a card-like stiffness by diluting to a lesser degree.
